Bio
Jeff originally hails from Canada and describes himself as “a really skinny kid” who wanted to add muscle and weight. As a teenager in Hawaii, Jeff worked out with his brother-in-law, a football player, who taught him how to work out properly with free weights. After years of experimenting with numerous high-calorie diets, Jeff discovered the key to a great physique is a healthy diet and lifting with ultimate precision and proper form. In his 20’s, Jeff moved to California, joined Gold’s Gym and hired a trainer. He didn't much care for the trainer, but eventually followed instruction in how to gain size. To Jeff’s surprise, the results were amazing and before long he was hired to work with injured patients in a friend’s medical practice. Working with injuries from minor to serious gave Jeff unique exposure to the study of muscular and skeletal systems as well as insight to nerve and spinal functions.
In the mid 1990’s, Jeff met two highly successful trainers, Johnny and Allison Cowgill. Johnny, a body builder trying for his pro card, understood diet and the mechanics of the human body better anyone Jeff had met. Allison was a physical therapist and body builder herself specializing in the rehabilitation of every ligament, tendon, muscle, and bone in the human body. The two certified trainers worked with Jeff, eventually hired him as a trainer at their Southern California Gym, TEAM JOHNNY FITNESS, and provided the nurturing environment in which a young trainer and body builder could customize programs to a wide range of clients from special injury needs to general wellness. It was here that Johnny Cowgill taught Jeff to pose professionally for the body building competitions he would enter and win throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s. Other core principals of Jeff’s training were flexibility, agility, and diet structure.
